Saturday's ‘Gypsy-It!’ event, organised by the London Gypsy Orchestra and funded by Grassroots Grants, was a delight for all involved. The Round Chapel in Clapton was bustling with local residents, and people of all ages enjoyed the acts, joined in the jam session, and danced joyfully to the music. We were very lucky to see virtuoso performances from Gypsy musicians Ricardo Marek and Benjamin Czureja from the Romany Diamonds, and had stunning recitals from members of the LGO, and wonderful dancing demonstrations by Janna Eliot and Gosia.

This event celebrated the end of the Gypsy-It programme of classes in Gypsy music and dance that had been running over the previous 6 weeks. Participants in the classes performed the pieces they had been learning, plus there was another stunning musical performance from the Romany Diamonds, music from members of the London Gypsy Orchestra, dancing led by Janna Eliot, and wonderful dance
displays by Maria Saoutkina and Ljiljana Grkinic.
